During the preliminary research and idea generation stage, I proposed four possible solutions that will strengthen the connection between the skin barrier and the removable pouch.
The first idea was to make the pouch lie horizontally and apply adhesives on the pouch to make it stick to the skin.
The second idea was to make an ostomy belt that goes around the waist. Unlike the common ostomy belt, this belt itself serves as a bag to store the output.
The third idea was to design a smaller ostomy bag that is worn when doing physical works to reduce the bulkiness of the product. The patient can wear the regular pouch for the rest of the day.
My last idea was to use an elastic barrier strips to secure the position of the pouch.

After discussing the advantages and disadvantages of each member’s ideas, our group come up with our first set of ideas.
